01Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the service:

• Account data — your name, email address and avatar, provided when you create an account.
• Content you create — course topics, materials you paste or upload, answers, notes and chat messages. This is the core of the product and is stored in our database.
• Billing data — payments are processed by a third-party payment provider. We receive your plan and subscription status, never your full card details.
• Technical data — IP address, browser and device information, and server logs, used for security and to keep the service running.

02How we use your data

• To provide the service: build your courses, track your progress, and sync them across devices.
• To generate content: the topics and materials you submit are sent to AI model providers to produce your course. They are used to fulfil your request, not to train our own models.
• To send transactional email (for example, when your course is ready).
• To process payments and prevent fraud and abuse.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not show third-party advertising.

03Service providers

We rely on a small number of third-party providers to run CourseBox — for sign-in, payments, AI generation, hosting, storage and email. Each one receives only the data needed for its job and processes it on our behalf.

04Cookies

We use cookies that are strictly necessary for the service: keeping you signed in (authentication) and remembering your language and your choice in the cookie banner. We currently set no analytics or advertising cookies. If we add optional analytics later, it will only run if you allow it.

05Data retention and deletion

Your data is kept while your account is active. If you delete your account, your courses and personal data are removed from our active systems; residual copies in encrypted backups expire on a rolling schedule. You can also ask us to delete your data at [email protected].

06Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] — we respond to every request. If you are in the EU/EEA or the UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

07International transfers

Our providers may store and process data in countries other than your own. Where required, transfers are covered by the providers' contractual safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses.

08Children

CourseBox is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

09Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will post the new version here and update the date above; for material changes we will notify you in the app or by email.
